This is a lovely packaged/presented collection of timeless children stories that I purchased for my niece. I'm sort of the poor, loser uncle so I hope she remembers I bought her something nice.

I absolutely love the quality of this book, it is well done, absolutely beautiful, amazing collection of these classic books! So excited to have them, read them and share them with others! It show cases her art and stories perfectly! I will include pictures, also if anyone likes history, I recommend listening to The History Chicks podcast on the life of Beatrix Potter, knowing about her life, her talent in art, and her love for animals among other things adds so much depth to these stories! I am not even kidding! The podcast isn't boring at all it's funny and interesting and made me love these stories all the more! Excited to have this beautiful edition to pass down to my children, and for a good price! Arrived on time as well, brand new, no damage!! Extremely Happy!!

For Beatrix Potter lovers, this book is a must. It has all the stories, with excellent reproductions of her original illustrations. There also are little prefaces that tell something about each particular stories publication. The quality of the paper, binding, etc. is first class.I read these stories to my children when they were little and look forward to reading them to my little grandson when he is old enough.

This is a beautiful series but had no number 7 and two number 11's. It was a gift to a grandchild shipped overseas so it was too difficult to return it.

We always borrow the single-book version from the library. They're in high demand so I decided to buy the full version. I was fully aware of the difference in format, but I was still a bit dismayed. The trouble is the suspense is gone with this format. Your kids will keep looking to the other pics further on in the story. I suggest you get this only after you've read many, or all, of the books, and just want to re-read for the pleasure of it. Or if (like me) you can't afford the boxed version yet. I do plan on getting the boxed set as a holiday present later this year. But I wanted to get this now. My kids are always asking to read their favorite stories. And I use this as a handy reference for homeschool copywork.

The Amazon Kindle version is miserable to read. The pictures are too small and the text is off with the pictures. Just buy this one in print.

If you're human you will love reading the quintessential children's stories by Beatrix Potter. In fact, if you are a grandparent you will love reading them even more. Every child should have her collection to save for their children. My grandchildren love this little library and believe it or not they take a book out then return it to its box. I think they are quite proud to own those 23 volumes of books exactly the right size for small hands. The art work is spectacular in this set. Let's face it children read not just for the story but the artwork too. I love all those little tales.

I was worried after reading some comments and reviews here on Amazon about these books, but the set I bought for my daughter is beautiful! We haven't made it through all of the books yet, but the ten we have read are perfect. Very detailed illustrations, perfect coloring, no fading or other issues that some people have had with these books. Very pleased.

I used to read these as a child and now that I have my own daughter i can't wait to read this to her. Beautiful book!

It is well-illustrated.A couple things to note:- The books handles T’Challa’s father’s death, but does not directly say that he dies.- In terms of content, each page has short, simple sentences — usually one to three — and repetitive words, which makes it ideal for beginning readers.- The book also briefly discusses natural resources, which might be a good launching point for the relevant topic of colonization for kids who want to explore the meaning of the character.- The book centers only on the men’s stories, so if you’re looking for intersectional feminism that appears in the film, this isn’t that. Fingers crossed that some future stories might include that.

Love this book! I bought this book for my 3 year old son. He is very much into super heroes. The book is very good at keeping it somewhat as G to PG rated as possible. Although there are fighting scenes (which comes with the super hero territory) the book avoids going into details of dying or being killed. It is hard finding super hero books appropriate for young kids. This book is really good! Short enough to keep a child's attention yet long enough to learn about Black Panther.

I am loving that these books are also written for young readers. We gave this one away at a Black Panther viewing party. We want children to read books that interest them, especially boys!

I've never thought Ms.N.R. Walker could write this kind of story.It's not a lame romantic story that just uses some period of history as a background and has nothing to do with that.The story took place a little before Mount Vesuvius has erupted.And even though it's in [Romance] category, you don't have to worry there will be erotic scenes every 5 pages to make you feel sick as any other 'Romance' stories.Yes, there are many romantic scenes for the first half of the book, but around 30% of that portion is aimed for teasing, flirting, and foreplay which will make you feel awww...However, while they are romantic scenes, they're also being backgrounded by serious and high tension from many factors that will keep you at the edge.And then when the second half of the book started, you may forget this is a Romantic novel.The politics' dirty and twisting, betrayal of the betrayal, suspense, desperate feelings, hopelessness, loyalty and heroic actions all came in full force!!And Blood!!Who would think Ms.Walker could write a story with this much blood!?!, not to mention many cruel and horror scenes. At some point, I had to lay down the book and took a breath...``r(^^;)…And I was like...Wow...You have to read this book.It's really good. It's worth every minute that would be taken.It's quite long, but you will feel like you need more even when your heart is full.PS. To Mis.Walker,I don't know the actual information, but, was the 'F' word really being used since Roman times (laugh)?

I absolutely stand behind my statement, this for me was one of my top 20 books of 2018! I suppose it just rang all my bells. I never even considered skipping to the end (I consider sometimes but never actually do). I always enjoy Walkers books, but she out did herself on this one! I love tough guys who are squishy inside w/a heart. I love the Roman Era, M/M of course and Quintus & Kaeso were perfect! Kaeso had just the perfect bite to give it right back to Quintus and oh if Quinto didn't know how to handle Kaeso right back! Loved that Pompeii was touched upon! WHAT didn't I like...... Nothing, rare for me to find NO fault. I look forward to an audio of this book.

It was with some trepidation that I read this book; I am normally a huge N R Walker fan but was hesitant as she does not normally do time period pieces. Should have known better - it was well researched and very well written and really drew one into that timeline. The characters were realistic and the political intrigue was dirty and apt for that time. I can usually reread her works many times as I find them so enjoyable, and have no doubt I will reread this at some stage.

This has to be the best book in this genre that I've had the privilege of reading. It has everything I like. I imagine the characters as very muscled men. The book has heat beyond belief. It is also filled with love. It's a book that you won't be able to put down. It also reminds of the movie of Gladiator and the TV series of Spartacus. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

If you like Ancient Rome, gladiator honor and the scraping of oiled flesh excites you, this story will take you through an excellent adventure. The characters are endearing and the unfolding is purely NR Walker at her best.

4.5 stars. A very different story from N.R. Walker's hand. There were drama, blood and volcanoes. I will not judge the book for the historical accuracies, but the Roman culture was rendered somewhat authentic. At least it was authentic enough to embellish and advance the story. I liked the two main characters. They were very honorable and clean cut. In another author's lesser hand, they could have been quite boring. But they complemented each other nicely. They here sweet and sexy. Generally I like my men with some inner demons and multifaceted personalities, but it fits the storyline that the protagonists should be standing on the shoulders of heroes. Generally the good guys are good and the bad guys are bad... A classical face off whether it is cowboys or Roman soldiers.

NR Walker never disappoints with any of her books and this is no exception. Romance, mystery, and a beautiful story told in ancient Rome. Rush to buy this book you won't be disappointed!

If you've ever seen Spartacus on HBO, you've read this book. Like she wrote the book as she watched it. Same words, same phrasing, even the same character plots. Fair book, that's it.Writes using the British spelling, which distracts for an American English reader.

My son loves Minecraft and loves being able to see what events are coming up. I love being able to write them on the calendar so he doesn't have to ask me when something is over and over. Win win. Great quality

Hanging on gift recipient's wall, he really likes it. Seems to have all the days, months etc. Correct year too!

It was a great quality for a Minecraft colander and it even has cute little Minecraft facts on the calander days! Would buy again if needed!

I read The Dead Inside first (before "We Can't be Friends") and it absolutely changed my decision about sending my troubled teen to boarding school. I kept seeing the link for her books pop up when I was researching therapeutic boarding schools and I'm so glad that I looped back and read both of Ms. Etler's books. The Dead Inside is a personal tale of triumph which gave me tremendous hope as I navigate the way forward in my own family. She exposes a former corner of the troubled teen industry where she was wrongly accused/diagnosed as an addict and held hostage at a time when she should have been back in school and picking out prom dresses. Her home life was abysmal so on some level you'd think that maybe getting away from home would be a good thing, but she was clearly stuck in hell no matter which way she turned.It's easy to close this book and say "well, that whole situation was truly awful and abusive, but it was the 80s, things are different now, we're smarter, we know more, we wouldn't let that happen..." except that assumption is simply NOT TRUE! The same kind of abuse still happens at "therapeutic" boarding schools around the country every single day, and it's not just the ones that low income kids get sent to - it's also the ones that cost $70K+ a year. A dive into Reddit made me realize that no matter how tricky and difficult life is at home, shipping our teen off to be reprogrammed isn't an option. Please read this book if you're at the end of your wits and feeling hopeless as a parent or as a teen. It gives much needed perspective into the very murky troubled teen industry. Sadly, so many of the very places we think exist to help and nurture and refocus our kids are the very places that break them down, trounce their spirits, and make them more prone to addiction, depression, abuse, self harm and suicide when they emerge on the other side. Don't believe the pretty pictures you see on websites - dig into Reddit and you'll come to the same sad conclusions.

Miss Etler is totally accurate in her description of Straight Inc.She presents the horrors that occurred there in a vivid and true portrayal of what it was like to be a teenager in one of the most damaging, violent, "soul breaking" rehabs that America has seen.This book will astound anyone that read it... Especially those of us that were there.I did indeed feel as if I was "back on front row" while reading her very scary and very true book.The suffering we endured there carries through for a lifetime.This is a "must read" for anyone that was there.Also a "must read" for any parent considering putting their child in a similar program.They still exist today.

This book is a Godsend! Cindy put into words the horror of the experience. It is accurate to a spooky level. The emotions she describes are the same I and many other Straight Inc survivors experienced then & still experience to this day. This book has changed my life, allowing me to awaken to the horrors I experienced wihile a fellow survivor shares so vulnerably. I laughed inappropriately at things that were not a bit funny, but somehow I experienced relief seeing my horrirs in the written word. This is a very true story. Thank you Cindy Etler!

You won't be sorry you took the spiral dive into Cyndy Etler's predatory home life and involuntary captivity in a teen mind control cult, where only insanity assured survival. Cruel truth, thriller pacing, and immersive description make 'The Dead Inside' a fast, engrossing, emotional must read.Ms. Etler writes with absolute authority on Straight, Inc.'s brainwashing and intimidation tactics that turned so many formative teen minds against themselves. Her angsty youthful narrative voice careens you through the: shock, panic, terror, and psychotic submission necessary to survive the abuse of such environments.Having suffered captivity and deprivation under different circumstances, I found the universal truth of Cyndy's experience undeniable. I would have liked more about life and recovery post Straight, Inc., but hope to find it in some form in her future works. I only make the time to review material that merits 5-stars. I read this book twice and appreciated it both times. I'll be reading more by Cyndy Drew Etler in the future.Soaring with keen eyes and sharp talons, 'The Dead Inside' is a screaming eagle among YA memoirs.

Buckle up, it's going to be one hell of a ride. The gravity of the material in Etler's book grabs you page one and doesn't let up until the very end. The ups and downs, her emotions, are raw and real. As you're reading, you feel yourself transforming into a kid, wearing Levi's. You're there, you're with her. You hear the music climbing. Your heart beats faster when her heart beats faster. It's the most relatable book I've read in a long time, not because I can relate, but because she made me relate. Do yourself a favor, buy the book.

You will feel as if you have known her all of your life (from the very first page) while you are walking by her side through her very sad journey, but unable to take her hand.No one should have to endure this in their lifetime, especially a child, but the encouragement and life lessons that she describes should be read by all-especially younger teens as they are about to embark on those very difficult years. Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed by all the information on poker that is out there? 3 months ago i decided to really go for it in my poker playing and training and spent a lot of cash to really improve my game. What i got was very overwhelmed and I was bouncing around from one bit of info to another and not improving. I could not find the best way to work all this new info into my game. Then i found this book. Sky understands how much is out there and tells you step by step and what you can do to get the direction you need so you can focus on improving your game. Right now i have a detailed game plan to help me over the next 8 to 12 weeks to improve my poker playing in the one area i need the most work on. Once done with that part i will again use what Sky has told me to detail and plan the next area of improvement in my game. I was very lucky the day I found this book by accident but so glad i did.

I've bought and read several poker books starting with Doyle Brunson and many other experts, I learned a lot, but they didn't teach me how to learn and that was a fundamental gap that held me back. In addition to the text, the book comes with a pile of added extras in the form of downloadable documents including a workbook, study plan and much more.The key to this book is that Sky is pushing the reader to make a commitment. I have passion for the game and don't want to spend years playing the same game over and over, I want to improve and understand how to improve. I printed off the forms and made a commitment which led to me watching lots of videos, listening (again) to key Smart Poker Study podcasts (I subscribe and always look forward to the Gambate), reading articles, noting what I have read on the forms, what I was focusing on and playing almost every day with a purpose in mind.It doesn't matter how many poker books you buy, if you don't have a purpose and don't commit to a SMART plan, you will be lucky to pick up a few good habits and lessons, but you may not understand the context of what you have learned to be able to bring it into your A Game.My Kindle eBook is full of highlights and notes and is probably one of the better investments I have made. The game is changing and if you want to make money consistently, you need to keep up with the play. First of all you need to know why you are playing and you may not be prepared to spend 2-3 hours a day playing poker, that's fine this book will still work for you if you apply it to your own needs. The key thing is to have a purpose, do you want to just grow a little and improve your returns and enjoy the game more, or do you want to be able to get in the big stakes and have a chance of ending up cashing in a big tournament, or not be beaten up in a casino cash game where most people know each other but you are a stranger, like I did one night in Christchurch Casino?As long as you know what you want and are prepared to do the work, this book will help you. I strongly recommend following Sky on Facebook, his website and podcasts.

This is probably at least the 20th poker book i've read. This is the first book i've read that makes me want to go back and re-read all my old books with the new techniques Sky has so generously imparted on us. Brilliant, unique, fat-free and funny at times. Loved the lebowski references and other "inside type jokes". Good to read something from another Fresnan. Great work Mr. Matsuhashi. I'm on board. A+ ♡

Reminded me how much I forgot HOW to study. I have numerous poker books but haven't retained much from reading them other than the books themselves. Using this book as I go back through some other books, things are really making sense and easier to remember what it is I was trying to learn to begin with!

This book is mostly a collection of tips on how to study and set goals, things you could read anywhere, with little to no poker content. The most poker-related stuff was on how to use PokerTracker and Flopzilla, but that is still generic information, and I wouldn't be surprised if the author had some affiliate relation with them. Overall it was worthless. I wish I hadn't bought it.

I'm really looking forward to using the material in this book to create a solid lesson plan to attack specific leaks and incorporate new techniques into my game. The book gives you everything you need to get your poker learning organized, stay on track, and hold yourself accountable, but it's up to you to do the actual work. If you are looking to just read the book and (poof) be the best around, guess again. I think this, combined with Sky's videos and podcasts, give readers a good path and outline for success but you will need to dive in and fill in the details specific to your needs.

wanted to take poker to a serious profitable level-knew i needed a strong foundation--well here it is!! sky's book is where you start!! An awesome read knowledgeable in every aspect of the game that he writes about but more importantly how to study the game. I cannot stress this enough, you want to play! you want to profit! YOU NEED THIS BOOK!!!!!! Hell I even pay him to answer my poker questions when im stuck-worth every penny!!Thanks Sky--Gambatte!!p.s. lol my guitar playing has improved drastically because of this book:-)
