I read this book & i read the same brand of book three years ago when i took and passed the CAS002 exam.I hate to write negative reviews but I am an IT professional who has read atleast 25 certification books & i feel this is poorly written.Not to go into terrible detail the book:1. Fails to go into details or address technologies that are found on the CAS003 (I took it today)2. With all due respect the author often goes over the same things in chapters that are not related to the chapter the content is supposed to be addressing for a given chapter. Example "blah blah blah but that was covered in chapter X" very often.***I would try one of the other study materials

I read through the book once, and then the second time I went and took notes. I took all the practice exams so often that I memorized the answers. After the first time I failed, I went back and read up on the areas that I missed. Just failed the second time, and honestly I have no idea how one would study for the CASP exam. The book isn't necessarily bad, it just does not prepare you for the exam.

The book is descent in information and layout. I purchased the additional features listed in the back. That is where the issues lay. I received a receipt, but did not get any information on downloading the PDF or extra exams. Pearsonitcertification deactivated their support phone number. The email support took 4 days to reply and pretty much blew me off by directing me to FAQ which provided no information on my specific issue.

Great book. Arrived early. Great study material. Amazon didn't put any packaging cushioning whatsoever though. Just saying.

I am currently using this book to study for my CASP certification in the near future, so far the book is easy to read and breaks down information into topics and subtopics to quickly find what you need. I am only into chapter 3 so far but I like this book more than any other book I have or can find to study for the CASP by leaps and bounds.UPDATE: I pass my CASP on 9/27/18 but took older version due to more study materials, so don't know how good book is on current version. I suggest use other sources in addition to book.

I strongly recommend this book. It is well thought out both from a reading perspective and a reference perspective. Very comprehensive.

We watched the Gerson documentary on juicing for cancer one night in April 2013 when my husband was literally dying before my eyes from colon cancer and 3 1/2 rounds of chemo. He refused to do anymore chemo from that night on. I scrambled to buy a juicer and this book the very next day. We followed most of the directions in this book and my husband is now cancer free!

Although this book deals primarily with cancer reversal therapy, I've adapted and utilized the base philosophy to lose weight and improve my overall health. I drink a quart of fresh juice and two super smoothies each day, and I've lost over 25 pounds in the first 6 weeks, In addition to my weight loss success, my skin is no longer dry and itchy, my energy level has increased dramatically, my mood has improved significantly, my urine flow is stronger, and I'm having two to three bowel movements each day. My overall health picture has improved from a level of 5, when I started, to a level of 8 today. That's significant for me because next March I'll turn 65 years old.My doctor is amazed at the progress I've made in six weeks. I reduced my A1C from 6.6 to 5.7, and my blood pressure is down to 110/60. As a result, he reduced my blood pressure and diabetes medications by half during my visit last week. At this rate, I could be off of all my medications by this time next year.Another aspect of the Gerson Therapy is the concept of coffee enemas. It sounded somewhat weird to me too initially, but once I decided to try one I became a believer; now I take one about every two weeks. Once I developed a procedure that was simple and easy for me to perform, the process became very relaxing, and now I feel better after each enema. Don't knock it until you try it.I really like this book and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a health makeover.

This is an Excellent Book. Bought it for a family member with pancreatitis. I also purchased the video "The Gerson Miracle", as a companion with this book. It has made a huge difference in their lives and how to eat healthy. The dr.'s said she had pancreatic cancer but only after 2 short weeks of changing her diet and adding baking soda to raise her PH the test results came back and the tumor was gone.. that was 6 months ago...

I don’t have cancer (that I know if) but I do struggle with autoimmune diseases and this book has been an inspiration. It very clearly lays out the principles of the program and why certain practices are followed. In fact I’m confident that if I were diagnosed with cancer I would fight hard to do this program as part of my treatment. As it is, I’m only implementing certain parts until I reach a place where I can commit to a full initiation with a continued maintenance period after.I also like how the authors don’t mince words. They don’t promise that it will be a miracle cure for everyone. They acknowledge that different people will get different results based on their level of adherence and their underlying conditions. And they also tell you right away that this is NOT an easy program. It’s very labor intensive, time intensive and the rules are very strict.But hey, if you’re fighting for your life, you don’t want easy. You want it to WORK!

Here is our story.My husband was diagnosed with Vertigo. After going from one specialist to onother specialist no doctor was able to help him and neither the medications. Though having noticed some less than stellar reviews of this book, I decided to acquire a paperback copy and was pleasantly surprised at the breadth and depth presented on this potentially voluminous topic, and in a succinct, clear style. It broadened my perspective on the general execution of screenwriting, as well as the panoramic creative possibilities beyond what one might imagine when contemplating "adaptation." I loved this book.

The trouble with this book is in its repetitive nature. For one thing, a lot of the advice contained in the book is common sense. While common sense is not as common as it should be, most people only need to hear the advice once or twice before it penetrates their skull. This book gives the same advice time and time again. It really only offers a handful of suggestions but rambles about them endlessly and repeats them. The book is 208 pages long but the information might have fit quite snugly in 100 pages or less. Krevolin seems to pad the book with interviews and short diatribes from people in the business with experience in adaptation. I thought that I would find this quite helpful (it is a good idea in theory), but I didn't really get anything out of the interviews that I didn't extract from what Krevolin had to say.It was an extremely easy read and it uses specific films as examples to make its specific points. The trouble is that it doesn't contain a lot of actual advice and the advice that it contains is relatively intuitive.

It mostly concerns itself with structure: which, in the case of many examples in this book, was determined by the original author of the story (and not the screenwriter who adapted the story).

A great text for learning how movies are structured using Krevolin's 8 sequence chart to construct story beat overview of story ideas.

Richard Krevolin's books are always great reads- very creative mind. Great tips for writing screenplays as well!

To anyone who has even a glimmer of artistic pretension, it will prove dissapointing. Two lines jumped out at me. "Some people feel that because there is an accepted way of doing something, they need to do things differently. This is not a sign of genius, but merely a sign of a severe problem with authority'And my thoughts turn to Griffith,Wells,and Shakespere,Ibsen, and Sravinsky,Messian and,Parker,Coltrane,and Hendrix,Dylan, and Darwin,Freud,and, VanGough,Picasso Surly all displayed signs of problems with authority.

2018 was a ROUGH year for me. One bright spark of joy was...the Queer Eye show on Netflix! I've been a Jonathan Van Ness fan FOREVER so I was ecstatic to see that he was cast on the show. I immediately fell in love with the entire Fab Five team. The show was truly a ray of hope, joy, and optimism in the midst of a very tough time. When I saw that they had a book...I flipped out! I don't think I've ever rushed over to Amazon so fast! The book is beautiful. I love reading a few pages every morning while drinking coffee. It inspires me to be kinder to myself and take better care of myself all day long. Bravo to everyone who helped produce this book! OK, now I need to go jade roller my face just like Jonathan instructs.

It gives you the story’s of what makes all the fab 5 who they are, and then gives you advice that’s general enough that you can apply it to yourself as if you’re on the show. I give this book five stars because it's a great work by Erich Neumann, possibly the most insightful and important contributor to analytical psychology after Jung. Get this book to really delve into understanding this Archetype. There is only one thing I want to let potential buyers know about this particular edition: the print is very small. So small it leaves a wide margin. If your eyes are prone to getting tired, you might consider another edition with bigger letters. It's a pity Princeton University Press overlooked this detail. I'll attach a photo to give you an idea how small the print is and consider this, might not be an issue for everybody.

Haven't finished but it has much depth with timeless content.

I wish he had lived long enough to write the companion he had planned. Excellent scholarship.

Seems to be well researched, but the format is garbage. Its centered in the middle of the page with a border of blank space that if taken out would shrink the size of the book about 25%. Perhaps its for making notes? To me it was annoying, but the information was interesting.To me the poor formatting makes reading it not a enjoyable read.

Erich Neumann (1905-1960), was a Jungian psychologist, philosopher, and author; he also wrote books such as The Origins and History of Consciousness,The Fear of the Feminine,Depth Psychology and a New Ethic,Amor and Psyche, etc. [NOTE: page numbers below refer to the 379-page plus 185 B&W plates paperback edition.]He wrote in the Preface to this 1955 book, “In this book we have attempted a structural analysis of an archetype; we have striven to show its inner growth and dynamic, and its manifestation in the myths and symbols of mankind. Such an understanding is one of the central needs of analytical psychology. For, in both a theoretical and a practical sense, it is very hard for those who have not experienced the reality of the archetype by undergoing analysis to understand what depth psychology means by an archetype… Our exposition does not deal with the archetype in general, but with a specific archetype, namely, that of the Feminine or… the Great Mother… The investigation of the special character of the feminine psyche is one of the most necessary and important tasks of depth psychology in its preoccupation with the creative health and development of the individual… The experience of the archetypal world leads to an inner form of humanization that… will perhaps one day prove more reliable than the form of humanism known to us up to now, which is not grounded in depth psychology.”He notes that the Great Mother “was worshipped and portrayed many thousands of years before the appearance of the term.” (Pg. 11) He points out that “the elementary character of the Archetypal Feminine is far from containing only positive features… the Archetypal Feminine is not only a giver and protector of life but… she is the goddess of life and death at once.” (Pg. 45)He clarifies, “The archetypal image of the Great Mother lives in the individual as in the group, in the man as well as the woman. When therefore we say that the matriarchal world precedes the patriarchal world, we are not referring to a sequence of sociological structures, such as that set up by Bachofen ].” (Pg. 91)He states, “The Great Mother fills the universe and the earth with fertility and abundance, and tends to be characterized by a naturalistic, ‘sensuous’ form, while her aspect as ruler over the spirits and the dead favors forms stressing the unnatural, unreal, and ‘spiritual.’” (Pg. 108) Later, he adds, “Body-vessel and mother-child situation---the positive elementary character of the Feminine---spring from the most intimate personal experience, from an experience that is eternally human; and even when it is projected into the ends of heaven and earth, it preserves its closeness to the central personal phenomenon of feminine life.” (Pg. 147) But has also adds, “Blood sacrifice and dismemberment belong to the fertility ritual of the Great Mother. Both fecundate the womb of the earth…” (Pg. 189)He observes, “It was [Robert] Briffault ,The Mothers] who discovered the fact (which is still insufficiently recognized) that early culture is in very high degree the product of the female group, and that the relative sedentariness of the matriarchal community of mothers and children was bound to provide a biological, psychological, and sociological force for the ‘ennoblement’ of the original natural state.” (Pg. 281)He asserts, “The goddess is therefore not only the queen of the ennobled fruit of the soil but also of the spirit matter of transformation that is embodied in the wine. Thus the transformative character of the Feminine rises from the natural to the spiritual plane. The culture-bringing primordial mysteries culminate in a spiritual reality that completes the mystery character of the Feminine.” (Pg. 287)He concludes, “The Archetypal Feminine in man unfolds like mankind itself. At the beginning stands the primeval goddess, knowing nothing but the secret of her womb; at the end is Tara, in her left hand the opening lotus blossom of psychic flowering, her right hand held out toward the world in a gesture of giving.” (Pg. 334) He continues, “The Great Goddess… the archetypal unity and multiplicity of the feminine nature---is the incarnation of the Feminine Self that unfolds in the history of mankind as in the history of every individual woman; its reality determines the individual as well as collective life. This archetypal psychical world which is encompassed in the multiple forms of the Great Goddess is the underlying power that even today… determine the psychic history of modern man and of modern woman.” (Pg. 336)This book will be of interest to a variety of readers: Jungians; feminists; matriarchal theory supporters; those interested in archetypal and depth psychology, and even archaeologists.
